Description
Function: Provides leadership in developing and expanding loan, deposit and electronic services relationships within assigned market area, for a branch or for multiple branches. Executes a business development plan designed to increase market share and promote the positive image of the Bank within the local community. Leads their branch team in the areas of development, engagement and building and maintaining a high performing team in a positive working environment. Develops and grant loans within specified lending authority. Responsible for the full operation of a full-service branch banking operation.
Duties:
1. Designs and executes a business development and sales program within the branch.
· Establishes priorities and sales plans for market area and branch.
· Leads the branch team in meeting the set branch loan, deposit, and revenue goals.
· Documents calls, results and branch cross sales information.
· Participates in local civic and community activities to facilitate lead generation.
· Is a universal leader by backing up the various roles and functions of the branch team as needed.
2. Perform duties as a Bank consumer loan officer.
· Exceeds customer expectations in daily job performance through implementation of effective service skills with every customer contact.
· Interviews loan applicants.
· Researches credit history and financial data.
· Makes loan approval/denial decision or present loan for Senior Lender decision.
· Monitors document preparation and closes the loan or administers the declination.
· Contributes to management reports regarding loan portfolio activities/quality.
· Maintains current lending and industry knowledge through professional reading and education.
3. Provides counsel and information on banking and financial matters to customers.
· Determines customer needs through consultative discussions.
· Explains and sells Bank products to meet customers’ needs.
· Refers customers to other areas within the Bank such as First National Wealth Management, First National Investment Services, and Digital Commerce.
· Resolves customer complaints or problems quickly to the mutual satisfaction of the customer and the Bank.
· Provides notary and signature guarantee service for Bank customers.
4. Oversees the daily operation of a full-service branch banking operations.
· Directs branch operations through implementation of established policies and procedures.
· Coordinates branch-based activities including personnel management & evaluation, workflow design, and building maintenance
5. Leads the branch staff through effective leadership, management and human resources strategies.
· Leads the employment decision making process for the branch regarding performance, promotions, salary, transfers, and terminations.
· Responsible for timely and effective staff performance appraisals as well as other ongoing feedback and employee support though training and development.
· Fosters a cooperative and collaborate working relationship with other departments in the Bank.
· Encourages and supports the individual development of staff through the execution of a formal coaching program.
Requirements
Education, Training and Experience:
- College degree preferred; business administration, finance, accounting, allied major, or equivalent.
- Bank experience in a customer contact position and prior supervisory experience is desirable.
- Exposure to bank-based lending process is desirable.
- Work experience in an unsupervised environment
