We are seeking a Credit Analyst to join our team in either West Des Moines or Ames. This individual will work as a part of our lending team to provide independent analysis of commercial loan requests and recommending approval, denial, or alternative structures. Documentation and testing the ongoing performance of borrowers and guarantors are also critical to this role. This position can be a great opportunity for someone to begin their lending career or for an experienced Credit Analyst.
Primary Duties Include:
- Working closely with Loan Officers to process requests for financing from inception through payoff including renewals, modifications, and new requests.
- Analyzing financial statements, including performance ratios. Also performs loan stress testing.
- Collaborating with Loan Officers to ensure all required financial information from customers is received and processed in an accurate, timely, and consistent manner while monitoring compliance with required loan covenants to ensure financial risk is managed properly.
- Consulting with Loan Officers to prepare written commercial loan analysis. Also prepares reports for Management and the Board as assigned.
- Reviews documents and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Applying established procedures for disbursing loan proceeds over the life of construction and development loan and ensuring equity injections are tracked and received.
- Performing on-site collateral audits for existing and prospective customers including preparing written audit findings and recommendations.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related degree.
- Foundation in accounting principles as they relate to banking.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
- Strong reading, writing, verbal communication, and basic mathematical skills.
- Demonstrated analytical decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
