The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the CIO and will provide for oversight of credit union transactional processing systems supporting member service including; core processing; consumer, real estate and commercial lending; debit and credit card services and electronic services.
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to : Oversight of core processing team, timely completion and accuracy of operational and project related tasks and functions, ensure complete and accurate maintenance of documentation, procedures, logs and reports, monitor processes to ensure desired results and performance. Assist with refinement of current systems and processes. Familiarity and knowledge of financial processes, transaction flow and inherent risks.
The incumbent must have excellent leadership and organization skills, be detail oriented, and possess an ambitious attitude. The incumbent is expected to attend job-related seminars, conferences and training classes at the discretion of the CIO.
The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of general credit union practices and procedures and be able to assure their completion in compliance with all credit union statutes, rules and regulations. The incumbent is responsible for the complete and accurate maintenance of the in-house data processing system, and other third-party functions and all related special projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains a focus and priority on delivery of excellence to our members within all products, services and delivery channels.
- Oversight of Information Technology, related to Core Processing areas to ensure performance, data security and integrity, refinements and team interfacing. Timely completion of daily and periodic processing, project related tasks and issue handling.
- Participates budget processes including forecasting, tracking and containment.
- Participates in the development, maintenance, testing and reporting related to Incident Response, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery policies, processes and documentation.
- Develops and maintains policies for areas of responsibility.
- Oversees the maximization of the skill sets and efficiency of core system team through proper delegation and coordination, directly supervises the Manager of Core Systems.
- Must interact and lead efforts related to processing system interfaces.
- Ensure effective and timely communication at all levels of the credit union.
- Participate in project teams interpreting and translating needs to respective areas of responsibility.
- Manage requirements related to new system implementations, projects, system changes, upgrades and conversions. Assure timely completion and accuracy.
- Identify and implement opportunities for integrations, efficiencies and performance improvements for member transactions and internal workflows.
- Maintain clear and open communication with service providers at all times.
- Responsible for the direction of departmental procedures maintenance and development.
- Leads respective managers to assess knowledge and training needs within departments to ensure competency and performance.
- Establish goals for department, system and service enhancements.
- Ability to design, implement and maintain an IT infrastructure to meet short and long-range strategic objectives. Ensure versatility, efficiency and stability in effort to protect CU investments. This includes but is not limited to Core System, and all ancillary systems.
- Ensure CU technology and third party solutions remain current, competitive and versatile. Provide for high availability and ensure fail over capabilities of critical systems.
- Development and maintenance of policies and procedures.
- Ensure the security and integrity of member information and resources.
- Oversees that the evaluation and work performance of core processing team members is completed. Recommends promotion within the department to the CIO.
- Oversees a good working relationship with the data processing software and service providers and acts as the main liaison between the credit union and third party vendors.
- Oversees the coordination of the review, testing, and implementation of new releases, enhancements and programs provided by service and software providers.
- Work closely with all the IT department heads and any other groups requesting information relative to data processing.
