POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Branch Management
Department: Branches
POSITION PURPOSE
To direct and participate in the day-to-day operations of a branch, ensuring that it meets its production and service level goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- In charge of directing and monitoring staff to ensure that they are providing the highest level of service to our membership.
- Involved in business development and community activities.
- Takes ownership of the branch. This includes resolving member complaints and problems, handling emergency situations, and ensuring branch activities are in compliance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Responsible for communicating branch needs to the branch manager.
- Assists members with the opening and closing of all account and loan types.
- Provides members routine information concerning their account. Directs member to appropriate department for more complex or specialized service needs.
- Maintains accurate member and employee records. This includes account files, signature cards, scanned records, time cards, reviews, etc.
- Takes an active role in learning and understanding our members’ needs and to fulfill those needs by cross-selling the appropriate credit union products and services.
- Responsible for scheduling of branch staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS & EXPECTATIONS Job duties are efficiently, accurately, and effectively performed in accordance with established policies and standards.
- Security procedures are understood and adhered to by all Service Representatives.
- Transaction drawers are to be balanced within fifteen minutes after the department has shutdown or within fifteen minutes of serving their last member.
- Good business relations exist with members. Members' problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved.
- To establish a good working relationship through teamwork and coordination with co-workers and management, both within and external to the department.
- To insure that reports and records are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- The Credit Union’s professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.
- Serves as the role model for providing excellent service in all areas of the branch.
- Responsible for building a strong team environment.
- To maintain and develop a qualified staff to meet the needs of members and the branch’s future growth plans.
- To meet or exceed sales and service level goals.
- To complete performance reviews on staff.
- Comply with the Information Security Policy and the Business Ethics and Conduct Code
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent.
Required Knowledge:
- A thorough understanding and knowledge of teller, member services and loan policies and procedures.
- Understanding of Credit Union operations.
- Understanding of the credit unions products and services.
- Understanding of Credit Union philosophy.
- Knowledge of basic accounting.
Experience Required: Six months to two years of experience as a financial service representative at a full-service financial institution. (preferred)

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information through a phone system.
Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)
WORKING CONDITIONS
None: No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization and ability to interpret various instructions.
Mathematics Ability: Ability to perform basic math skills and to use decimals to compute ratios and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.
Language Ability: Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5-6,000 words; to read at a slow rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning; pronunciation; write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, and use adjectives and adverbs; communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary.
