Credit Manager Job Description:
The Credit Manager oversees the credit granting process in conjunction with supporting company sales. They ensure there is a consistent application of company credit policy while working collaboratively with all departments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Evaluates creditworthiness and establishes credit limits for new customers, Determines related requirements such as security deposits and auto payments. Adjusts limits for existing customers.
- Identifies and tracks accounts that are delinquent.
- Contacts customers to obtain payments; when necessary, negotiates new payment terms or settlements. Prepares monthly late and service stop notices.
- Refers accounts to outside collection agency for further collection efforts as needed; assists with collections and legal actions pertaining to those accounts.
- Supports various departments and customers by answering questions about payments, account balances, and other topics as needed.
- Generates reports as requested from management including information about changes in accounts receivable aging and balance.
- Monitors merchant processing activity and prepares monthly reconciliation of credit card account.
- Tracks the rolling stock of multiple companies, updates jurisdictions with external parties, and coordinates the registrations and titles of purchases and sales. Interfaces with DMV and motor carrier services.
- Coordinated the maintenance of certain facilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
