Job Summary
Serve as music leader of the Praise Team
- Plan music/worship with the context of this congregation’s beliefs and mission
- Ability to read music is essential; have a broad working knowledge of Christian music and a range of styles suitable for a contemporary service.
- Be able to select and suggest music appropriate to each worship service, working alongside the pastor to develop worship themes
- Plan music several weeks in advance and complete work in the hours assigned
- Plan and lead each week’s rehearsal and Sunday service. Plays an instrument and/or sings as needed.
- Ensure selected music are in the proper key and all members have music in a timely fashion
- Secure substitute musicians when absences occur as necessary
- Collaborate with the technical team to ensure all music loaded in the computer for Sunday morning worship services is done in a timely fashion
- Serve as the point person when communicating with the church staff
Meet regularly with the Pastor/Head of Staff
Meet regularly with the Director of Music Ministries
Participate in monthly Worship Team planning meetings and Worship, Music, and Arts Committee meetings
Have a good knowledge of the equipment used by the Praise Team

Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to read and adapt music for the setting.
- Have a good understanding of the Reformed tradition and the theology of this congregation.
- Experience in working with a church contemporary music group
- Must be highly organized and self-motivated
- Experience in singing and/or playing an instrument
Schedule: Part-time; 15-20 hours/week; Sunday mornings, weekly evening rehearsals (Wed or Thu), additional services as needed; flexible hours for planning and meetings
