Director of Music and Worship

About the Role:
UMC of Green Trails seeks a passionate and skilled Director of Music and Worship to lead and inspire our congregation through music. This role blends tradition and innovation, crafting meaningful worship experiences that deepen faith and community connection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Inspire – Direct choirs, ensembles, handbells, and musicians in delivering powerful worship music spanning traditional and contemporary styles.
- Worship Planning – Collaborate with the Pastor to create music and liturgy that enhance the message of the day.
- Community Engagement – Expand worship impact through special services, events, and outreach.
- Rehearsals Training – Guide and develop musicians of all ages, ensuring excellence in all musical aspects of worship.
- Service Leadership – Provide and lead music for Sunday services, as well as weddings and funerals (honorariums provided).
- Budget Administration – Manage the music ministry budget and oversee music licensing requirements (CCLI).
- Time Commitment – About 25 hours/week, results-driven (not clock-in/clock-out). Includes Sundays, rehearsals, special services (Lent, Advent, Christmas), and planning time.
What We’re Looking For:
- Deep faith and commitment to God, the Church, and passionate about leading others in worship.
- Strong leadership, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Musical excellence, with proficiency in piano (organ skills also preferred).
- Experience directing choirs and ensembles in diverse musical styles.
- Bachelor’s degree in music or related field preferred.
What We Offer:
- Compensation: Starting at $35,000/year, based on experience, with annual reviews.
