What are the responsibilities and job description for the Detail/Paint Correction Technician position at First Priority Emergency Vehicles?
First Priority Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Detail/Paint Correction Technician to join our team at our Flanders, New Jersey manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in wet sanding, polishing, and paint correction, with a background in reconditioning used cars or working at high-end car dealerships.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform wet sanding, polishing and paint correction to restore and enhance the appearance of vehicle surfaces.
- Assess the condition of vehicle exteriors and identify areas requiring correction and detailing.
- Use specialized tools and techniques to remove scratches, swirls, and imperfections from vehicle paint.
- Apply protective coatings to maintain and preserve the quality of the vehicle's paintwork.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient completion of detailing tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cared for and stored.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction with the detailing work performed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in wet sanding, polishing, and paint correction.
- Proven experience in reconditioning used cars or working at a high-end car dealership.
- Certification in automotive detailing or paint correction is a plus.
- Experience with ceramic coatings and paint protection films is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of various detailing products, tools, and techniques.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
