What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Manager position at First Priority Emergency Vehicles?
First Priority Group is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee the management of parts and materials at our Flanders, NJ manufacturing facility. As an Inventory Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the supply chain by managing inventory levels, optimizing storage, and maintaining accurate records. You will work closely with the production team, vendors, and management to ensure the timely availability of necessary materials for the production of emergency vehicles.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage receiving, organizing and maintaining inventory of emergency vehicle parts.
- Oversee the receiving, storage and issuance of materials to the production floor.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to process parts orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Enter relevant and accurate data into the inventory management system, including part numbers, quantities, and locations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, locations and transactions using inventory management software.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Lead inventory audits when necessary.
- Monitor and analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize inventory levels, and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.
- Supervise warehouse and inventory staff to ensure proper handling and recording of inventory items.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or related field.
- Knowledge of emergency vehicle parts or automotive industry experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management software (ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite. Epicor experience a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and solid organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment a plus.
- Willingness to learn, grow, and accept change
