Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of both GAAP and IFRS, as well as experience in budgeting, account reconciliation, and regulatory reporting. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and other finance team members to enhance financial processes and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.
- Oversee budgeting processes, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with SOX regulations.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure timely disbursement of employee compensation.
- Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Develop and implement internal controls to enhance financial integrity.
- Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and assist in their professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably within public accounting or corporate finance settings.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, budgeting, account reconciliation, payroll processes, regulatory reporting, and SOX compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
