What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Psychologist position at First Responders Wellness Center?
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual therapy sessions with clients, utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities
-Understand trauma impact on the brain and dx of PTSD
- Provide individual therapy to first responders to address trauma and various mental health concerns
- Assess and diagnose clients, and develop treatment plans accordingly
- Offer crisis intervention services to clients in acute distress or experiencing a mental health emergency
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, including psychopharmacology when necessary
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to address specific client needs
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited program
- Completion of a post-residency or fellowship program in Clinical Psychology
- Valid state license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist
- Experience in addiction counseling and treating substance use disorders
- Proficiency in conducting psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities
- Ability to work effectively with individuals first responders, veterans, couples, adults, and older adults
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
Skills:
- Trauma informed care due to working with First Responder and Veteran community
- Mental health counseling (individual and/or couples, and group)
Pre-employment testing, FOID reinstatements and FFDE evaluations opportunities if desired.
- Crisis intervention
- Addiction counseling experience
- Supervision of interns
- Group therapy facilitation

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
