First Response Chimney – Serving Shenandoah Valley, Northern Virginia, and the DC Market
First Response Chimney is looking for a skilled and motivated Fireplace Installer / Chimney Repair Technician / Mason / Salesperson to join our growing team. As a Class A contractor specializing in chimney repairs, fireplace installations, and masonry work, we seek professionals who take pride in craftsmanship, safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fireplace & Chimney Installation: Install wood-burning, gas, and electric fireplaces, inserts, and stoves following manufacturer guidelines and building codes.
- Chimney Repair & Relining: Perform chimney relining, tuckpointing, repointing, flashing repairs, waterproofing, and masonry rebuilding.
- Masonry Work: Construct and repair brick, stone, and block structures, including chimneys, crowns, and fireboxes, ensuring durability and aesthetic quality.
- Inspections & Safety Compliance: Conduct Level 1 and Level 2 chimney inspections, ensuring compliance with NFPA 211 and local building codes.
- Customer Interaction & Sales: Educate homeowners on fireplace and chimney safety, recommend solutions, and upsell services such as crown seals, waterproofing, and relining systems.
- Site Preparation & Cleanup: Set up job sites safely with proper protective measures (plastic, tarps, Masonite), and ensure thorough cleanup after completion.
- Documentation & Reporting: Capture job site photos, document work performed, and update records in Housecall Pro.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience in chimney repair, masonry, fireplace installation, or a related trade.
- Knowledge of NFPA 211 codes, CSIA certification (preferred but not required).
- Ability to work at heights and use scaffolding, ladders, and power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow job specifications.
- Excellent customer service and sales skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
