Pay Range: $120,000 - $130,000 Per Year
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing quality management processes across civil engineering projects. This role ensures technical accuracy, compliance with industry standards, and consistency in deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, expertise in quality management, and a commitment to upholding high standards in engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
QA/QC Program Development & Management
- Establish, implement, and refine a comprehensive QA/QC program for engineering projects.
- Develop checklists, templates, and procedures to maintain quality standards.
Technical Standards & Training
- Define and enforce technical guidelines in alignment with industry codes and best practices.
- Provide training and mentorship to engineering teams on QA/QC processes.
Quality Reviews & Audits
- Conduct technical reviews of designs, plans, calculations, and reports to ensure accuracy.
- Perform regular audits to verify compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of QA/QC activities and generate reports on quality metrics.
- Identify and track areas for improvement based on audit findings.
Corrective Actions & Process Improvement
- Implement corrective and preventive measures to resolve non-conformities in projects.
- Work closely with project teams to enhance quality control measures and prevent recurring issues.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Advanced degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
- 7-10 years of civil engineering experience, including 3-5 years in QA/QC roles.
- Strong technical expertise in site development, transportation engineering, or water resources.
- Experience in regulatory compliance and industry standards.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desired Skills
- Quality Management Certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer - ASQ) are a plus.
- Project Management knowledge and ability to coordinate across teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
