Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager / Practice Leader (Civil Engineer) to drive the growth and success of our civil engineering practice. This role requires a highly skilled leader with strong technical expertise, business development acumen, and the ability to build and manage high-performing teams. The ideal candidate will oversee operations, develop strategic initiatives, and ensure high-quality project execution while expanding client relationships and business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Development & Strategy:
- Develop and implement a strategic growth plan for the civil engineering practice.
- Identify new market opportunities, expand service offerings, and establish performance goals.
Business Development & Client Relations:
- Lead business development efforts, securing new contracts and strengthening client relationships.
- Prepare winning proposals, conduct client presentations, and drive revenue growth.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide expert oversight on civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor engineers and technical staff, fostering professional development and innovation.
Operations Management:
- Oversee the financial performance of the practice, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Talent Acquisition & Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent to build a high-performance team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
Project Management:
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards.
- Directly manage complex, high-visibility projects as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience, with expertise in areas such as site development, transportation, or water resources.
- Proven success in business development, project management, and leadership roles.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, design practices, and construction methods.
- Excellent understanding of financial management and strategic planning.
