First Source Worldwide, LLC. (FSW) is recruiting for a Lab Technician to work first shift, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This opportunity is not remote.

FSW manufactures and distributes tailor-made chemicals and colorants. We focus on sourcing quality chemical and dye products for use across multiple industries and applications including leather, textile, paper, coatings, carpet, wood, HI&I, and more.

In short, the Lab Technician will handle daily laboratory procedures including the testing of production and vendor samples for quality control, work with the lab manager, procurement and production on obtaining finished product aligning with customer and FSW standards, and assist with research and development projects and maintaining cleanliness of the facility. This position requires strong leadership skills which will lead to a supervisory position.

The Lab Technician will:

· Perform routine quality control testing procedures for incoming and outgoing products and samples according to FSW SOPs and WIs to ensure compliance to customer and FSW standards and specifications.

· Assist and communicate with production in ensuring product conformation to set standards, making adjustments and recommendations as necessary.

· Assist and communicate with procurement to ensure that purchased products and raw materials meet customer and FSW standards.

· Prepare materials, solutions and equipment for lab procedures.

· Conduct necessary tests/experiments as directed by the lab manager.

· Safely and accurately and use dye machines, dryers, mixers, scales, glass wear, measuring devices, spectrophotometers and other lab equipment.

· Compile and interpret test/analyses results.

· Enter testing data into the ERP system.

· Prepare samples of products for marketing materials and sales staff.

· Calibrate lab equipment and keep calibration records according to FSW SOPs.

· Maintain a clean and efficient work environment by routinely cleaning workstations and equipment. Returning equipment and supplies to their proper place and maintaining overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.

· Ensure safety in the lab by adhering to the use of personal protective equipment and by following FSW and legal safety practices.

· Minimize risk by working efficiently and staying focused on the task at hand. Effectively communicating with coworkers on potentially dangerous situations. Remaining at the workstation until work is completed or at a point of completion that is safe to step away from.

· Perform all other related duties as assigned (this list is not inclusive).

The Lab Technician will need:

· Associates / Bachelor’s Degree in related Laboratory Sciences studies (i.e. Chemistry, Biology); or two (2) to four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in (i.e. a manufacturing facility or specific industry required.

· Previous ISO experience desired

· Experience with handling and measuring chemicals.

· Excellent written & verbal communication skills

· Excellent organization skills, including project management experience

· Time management skills, especially as it relates to handling multiple projects and

· Ability to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization; team player

· Knowledge and understanding of metric measurements

· Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint; teams experience a plus.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test post-employment offer
