Position Summary
The Payroll Specialist position is responsible for processing payroll for all Family of Companies entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves maintaining payroll records, handling deductions, resolving payroll discrepancies, and providing excellent service to team members regarding payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and timely process payroll for all team members.
- Manage all payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, wages, and benefit deductions.
- Maintain team member trust by keeping payroll information confidential.
- Keep accurate payroll records, including wages, deductions, and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Address payroll discrepancies, resolve team member issues, and answer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Prepare payroll reports for management and auditors.
- Coordinate with the accounting department for allocations and reporting.
- Manage payroll taxes, including filing and reporting.
- Accurately and promptly process year-end reporting of W-2s and 1095-C/1094-C Affordable Care Act (ACA) Forms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of experience in a payroll or accounting role, preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance.
- Proficiency in various computer software, particularly payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
