Currently we have a Payroll Specialist role open on 1st shift. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for all payroll functions including the processing of a multi-state, multi-company payroll within the guidelines of federal and state laws and Company policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Compute wages, ensuring accuracy in calculating pay for both regular schedule and out-of-cycle payments by following established pre- and post-processing controls and reviews of payroll data.
- Maintain time and attendance records and process time data utilizing established protocols.
- Establish and maintain employee payroll records, process and audit new hires, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposit setup, etc.
- Process employment verifications, garnishments and tax levies.
- Remit all tax files for reporting to Federal, State, and local entities, rate changes and inquiries.
- Process year end/quarter end fringe benefits such as relocation expense and vehicle usage.
- Process W-2’s for review and approval.
- Process monthly General Ledger distributions and assist with payroll-related account reconciliations.
- Create, run and distribute payroll reports such as headcount, OT, absence, OSHA, vacation, etc. as required.
- Maintain vacation, sick, and PTO time off balances and prepare year-end accruals for PTO, holiday, and payroll advance.
- Interface with internal and external individuals, departments and agencies to answer questions and resolve any discrepancies.
- Stay abreast of legislative/regulatory updates. Maintain documentation of all payroll related procedures.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in complete payroll processing and tax reporting
- Experience with an integrated HRIS (Payroll/Benefits/HR)
