Compliance Analyst

First State Community Bank is seeking the best candidate to join our team as a Compliance Analyst. As the Compliance Analyst you will have active involvement in problem solving over critical issues that have a compliance and/or regulatory impact on the institution.
Our Compliance Analyst is also responsible for conducting compliance reviews in accordance with established standards and practices. You will have the opportunity to interact with internal employees, including loan officers, market specialists and management to resolve compliance findings.

Professionalism
- Participate in the development of new products, services and promotions and provide input regarding compliance concerns relevant to proposed and current products and services offered by the bank
- Carries out assignments discreetly, effectively and efficiently in sensitive and confidential circumstances
Accountability
- Prepare documentation for examinations and/or external audits
- Support the Risk Management Department with other duties that may be assigned at the discretion of management
Initiative
- Participate in and review proposed changes to bank policies and procedures for compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and provide recommendations for any necessary changes
- Review, revise and develop bank forms and disclosures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations
Adaptability
- Assists in staff training on compliance related topics as needed or on an annual basis
- Assists in assessing new or changed laws and regulatory requirements to determine the impact on policies, procedures and reporting systems

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training
- 1 to 2 years Compliance or Audit Banking experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management within organization
- Strong decision making, analytical and investigative abilities needed
- Proficient with Microsoft applications
- Ability to travel as required
- Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
- Must be a team player within a department and be able to interface successful with bank and operations department managers
