What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Specialist position at First State Orthopaedics?
First State Orthopaedics is seeking to fill a Full Time HR Specialist role to support a busy HR department. Will be responsible for providing employee relations support for the department, assisting with the hiring process, new employee orientations and training and working with HR database for analysis and reporting. This position requires occasional travel between locations.
Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related business field. 5 years’ experience in a human resources position required. Experience and working knowledge of ADP HRIS system a plus but not required. Must have exceptional interpersonal relationship abilities, good writing skills, good time management, and very reliable.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Enter employment data into ADP Workforce Now database
- Assist HR administrator with the hiring process, disciplinary actions, online job postings and candidate interviews
- Coordinate logistics for new hire orientations and employee training sessions
- Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal employment leaves
- Helping to develop programs to enhance employee relations and offer employee support to each staff member
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
- Ensuring new hire paperwork is completed and processed
- Explaining human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing employees
- Administer programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with strategic goals of the company
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Assist with tracking of departmental and company measurements that support the accomplishment of the company’s strategic goals.
- Prepares and maintains reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the Human Resources department. As required, prepares periodic reports for management.
- Maintain HRIS database, generate reports to assist management.
- Maintain and update database of employee information, status changes, benefits, etc.
- Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Process enrollments, changes, and termination of participants in all benefit plans and programs.
- Assist employees with any benefit/claim issues.
- Provide additional H.R. duties as assigned.
