SUPERVISES: Independently/Dependently licensed staff and/or interns
SUMMARY: Provides individual counseling, group counseling, case management and crisis intervention to the clients at First Step Home. Provides clinical supervision to dependently licensed staff and interns.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with the client to develop an Individual Treatment Plan according to OMHAS and CARF person/family-centered standards.
- Provides clinical supervision to dependently licensed staff, therapists and interns in a group setting and individually.
- Reviews and monitors services and activities, documenting progress according to OMHAS standards.
- Attends individual supervision session with the Director of Clinical Services or designate.
- Facilitates didactic and therapeutic groups according to agency model.
- Conducts individual counseling with assigned clients, according to agency model, identifying their progress and continuing to develop further treatment plans with their input.
- Facilitates weekly Residential and Outpatient Clinical Meetings
- Identifies and evaluates crisis situations and takes appropriate action.
- Participates in the recommendations of clients for phase determination, continued stay, termination or successful discharge.
- Accurately communicates relevant information to collaborating agencies in a timely manner.
- Refers clients for psychiatric evaluation and mental health counseling, as needed.
- Through Individual Counseling, Group Counseling, Case Management, Crisis Intervention and other billable services, generates direct billable service hours according to OMHAS/First Step Home productivity standards.
- Is responsible for submitting all documents relevant to services rendered according to First Step Home, Inc. standards.
- Works to attain the goals as written in job performance evaluations.
- Abides by the standards as set forth in First Step Home’s Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct.
- Is responsible for following all safety rules and safe health practices at First Step Home, Inc.
- Pursues training necessary for enhancing clinical skills and acquiring and maintaining appropriate credentials and licenses.
- Complies with all agency policies, procedures, and directives of immediate supervisor, the President/CEO and the Board of Trustees of First Step Home, Inc.
- Is responsible for following the Core Values of First Step Home, Inc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Social Work
Licensure Required: LISW- S required
Two years’ experience working in the field of chemical dependency
