Join our dynamic team in Chatsworth, CA, where innovation meets precision. We are seeking a skilled professional to create layouts of new products and modify existing ones using both manual and computer-aided techniques. This role involves converting layouts and sketches into detailed working drawings, either independently or with direction from Designers, Senior Designers, or Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Drafting or Engineering teams to develop thoughts and sketches into layouts, drawings, and schematics.
- Exercise judgment to suggest alternatives and incorporate product and manufacturing ideas.
- Engage with other disciplines to discuss design, drawing, or fabrication requirements.
- Support concurrent product development teams and ensure designs are cost-effective, manufacturable, and feasible for assembly.
- Produce final drawings independently or with assistance, ensuring correctness of proportion and internal component arrangement.
- Utilize the CAD System to create required drawings for program completion.
- Support Engineering, Sales, and Program Management by providing drawings expediently for bid and proposal efforts.
- Plan and organize the number and types of drawings required to represent the design.
- Coordinate tasks within the Drafting Department, adhering to schedule requirements and task prioritization.
- Provide estimates on completion dates of assigned tasks.
