What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Worship Arts position at First UMC Franklin?
Major Responsibilities:
· Works with pastors and worship ministry in the development and implementation of Sunday Services and other special events.
· Directly leads the Praise Band in instrumental and vocal worship.
o Selects for the Praise Band appropriate music for services.
o Manages rehearsals, Sunday services, and special events.
o Ensures that members have musical charts and cue sheets.
· Manages worship technology.
o Maintains, replaces, and adds equipment.
o Secures, trains and schedules technicians for all worship experiences.
· Collaborates with choir, organist, other musicians and AV team on Sunday morning services and other events.
· Communicates frequently and in a timely fashion with the team via email, phone, and Planning Center.
· Develops a vision for other types of worship experiences and streaming of services.
· Is responsible for managing Planning Center for worship services.
· Provides oversight and training of worship AV team and management of equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
· A disciple of Christ, committed to growing in faith
· A degree in music education or equivalent experience
· Knowledge of and experience in coordinating church worship music and technology
· Familiarity with the United Methodist Church
· Demonstrated proficiency with keyboard, piano, organ or guitar
· Relate well and communicate professionally with staff, volunteers, church members , and the community
· Excellent attention to detail
· Ability to work collaboratively with all age groups and teams
