Director of Worship Arts

First United Methodist Church in Franklin, NC seeks a Director of Worship who will:

• Work with pastors and worship ministry in the development and implementation of Sunday Services and other special events.
• Directly lead the Praise Band in instrumental and vocal worship.
• Select for the Praise Band appropriate music for services.
• Manage rehearsals, Sunday services, and special events.
• Ensure that members have musical charts and cue sheets.
• Manage worship technology.
• Maintain, replaces, and adds equipment.
• Secure, trains and schedules technicians for all worship experiences.
• Collaborate with choir, organist, other musicians and AV team on Sunday morning services and other events.
• Communicate frequently and in a timely fashion with the team via email, phone, and Planning Center.
• Develop a vision for other types of worship experiences and streaming of services.
• Is responsible for managing Planning Center for worship services.
• Provides oversight and training of worship AV team and management of equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

· A disciple of Christ, committed to growing in faith

· A degree in music education or equivalent experience

· Knowledge of and experience in coordinating church worship music and technology

· Familiarity with the United Methodist Church

· Demonstrated proficiency with keyboard, piano, organ or guitar

· Relate well and communicate professionally with staff, volunteers, church members , and the community

· Excellent attention to detail

· Ability to work collaboratively with all age groups and teams

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
