Job Details
Job Summary: Responsible for collecting past due installment loans, commercial loans and mortgage loans for all branches.
Education: A minimum of the following education/experience is required:
- A high school diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in collections, credit or finance; OR
- Associate Degree and 2 yeas’ experience in collections, credit, or finance.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Contacts customers who are past due on their installment loan accounts, commercial loan, and mortgage loan accounts to negotiate payment arrangements or settlements.
- Applies and understands all available collection tools and payment alternatives to minimize delinquency and credit losses.
- Consults with loan officers to favorably resolve issues as needed.
- Inputs collection notes into FIS.
- Tracks bankruptcies and judgements.
- Creates Lexis Nexis and SCRA reports.
- Files debt collections with JP
- Contacts charged-off accounts to obtain loan recoveries.
- Monitors and reports charge-off and recovery efforts.
- Files default judgments against defaulted loan customers.
- Prepares default suit packets.
- Works with legal counsel and attends legal hearings and court proceedings when necessary.
- Prepares weekly and monthly collateral tracking reports.
- Participates in on-going comprehensive training programs to maintain awareness of compliance regulations.
- Assists in resolving title issues.
- Sends demand letters and other correspondence as necessary.
