Position Summary
The Portfolio Manager (PM) - supports Relationship Manager (RM) sales efforts through the growth, development and effective management of loan portfolios, helping ensure positive performance. Under the supervision and direction of the Group Portfolio Manager, the PM assesses risk by evaluating, designing and overseeing aspects of the portfolio construction, and assists in driving profitability by performing financial and credit analysis; contributes to client relationships in conjunction with the RM.
This position will be located at our West End branch in Nashville, TN.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review documents for pre- and post-closing and assist with document approvals.
- Prepare, review and monitor reports to ensure FirstBank guidelines for compliance and credit monitoring are being met.
- Analyze credit requests and perform financial statement analysis utilizing spreadsheet and analysis tools.
- Prepare and monitor reports analyzing loan commitments and outstanding balances by customer, loan type, property type, location, size, etc.
- Partner with Credit and Bank partners in support of the RMs to promote client portfolio growth.
- Monitor past due information and future maturities, alerting the RMs as needed.
- Demonstrate an understanding of financial spreads, modeling and monitoring.
- Perform research to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and changes.
- May assist in the preparation of pitch books for prospective clients.
- May participate in, or independently execute, the sales process.
- Attend meetings and represent the PM and/or RM teams as needed.
- Function as part of the RM team and may back up RMs and/or Relationship Manager Assistants.
- Provide consistent, distinctive service to all clients when delivering the FirstBank service experience.
- Practice safe and sound bank procedures, including adherence to applicable laws and regulations, internal controls, operational procedures, risk management policies, and security protocols.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting and/or Finance preferred or equivalent experience in lei of degree
- Less than two years
