Job Summary…
The FirstLight Home Care Home Health Aide is responsible for assisting clients with personal care and companion care needs at their private residence. We assist with ADL's including Mobility Assistance, Bathing, Dressing and Meal Preparation. We also assist with household tasks such as light housekeeping, laundry, and errand/appointments assistance. Most importantly we are companions, friends, and compassionate caretakers with a big heart for seniors!
Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Help with activities of daily living, including mobility assistance, bathing, dressing and meal preparation.
- Provide homemaking services such as light housekeeping, laundry, meal planning and preparation and med reminders.
- Assist with prescribed exercises when the client has been instructed by the appropriate health professional.
- Remain in client vicinity at all times during shift and report any unusual incidents and act quickly in cases of emergency
- Document and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance to the Supervisor or Care Coordinator.
- Adhere to HIPAA Privacy regulations.
- Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.
Experience and Qualifications…
- At least 1 year experience working as a caregiver, personally or professionally.
- Driver’s License, Automobile Insurance, and reliable transportation
- Experience helping clients with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or other Memory Care needs.
- Experience working with PPE and equipment such as a Gait Belt, Trapeze, Hoyer lift and other common assistance devices is a big plus.
