Summary
As an In Home Caregiver at FirstLight Home Care, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate support to clients in their homes. This position is essential to our mission of enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, allowing them to maintain their independence while receiving the care they need.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities for clients.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
- Assist clients with mobility and physical exercises as needed.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to supervisors.
- Support clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques.
- Communicate effectively with family members regarding client needs and progress.
Qualifications
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Experience in home care or similar caregiving roles preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is essential.
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on compassion and empathy.
- Experience in dementia care is highly desirable.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized environment for clients.
- Familiarity with long-term care settings is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and families.
