Accounting Manager - Up to $100k
Highly-acquisitive manufacturing organization is looking to hire a newly created Accounting Manager, to support 3 of their plants. This is an awesome opportunity for a strong manufacturing/cost accountant looking to take the step into management! The ideal candidate has 5 years of strong costing and budgeting experience. ***5 days onsite
Description:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including profit and loss statements and balance sheet analyses.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends
- Develop internal financial reports for department heads, providing analysis on cost control, manufacturing efficiency, fixed asset requisitions, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee the monthly and year-end closing processes
- Manage local accounting operations, financial systems, and general ledger functions, including the timely preparation of monthly reporting packages
- Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Maintain proper documentation and backups for transactions to meet internal and external audit requirements.
- Supervise cost accounting activities, including cost allocations, product costing, inventory valuations, and monthly inventory counts to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels, cost of goods sold (COGS), and manufacturing variances
- Collaborate with the Financial Business Partner and production teams to maintain accurate and relevant standard costs.
- Oversee local accounts payable and receivable functions
- Lead and mentor the accounting team
- Oversee training initiatives to ensure the team remains up-to-date with accounting principles, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly financial forecasts, and strategic business plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- 5 years of cost accounting and budgeting experience
- Management experience preferred
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
