Our client, a large global law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a tax accountant with 1-2 years of experience out of public accounting (Big 4 preferred), to join their team.

Responsibilities:
- Oversees the compilation and organization of tax-related documentation to support the filing of federal, state, local, and international tax returns, covering areas such as income, business, sales/use, and property taxes.
- Serves as a key point of contact for external tax advisors, facilitating the exchange of necessary financial data for the preparation of partnership tax filings at the federal, state, and international levels.
- Collaborates with Tax Supervisors and Managers to ensure timely completion of departmental goals while aligning processes with overarching firm objectives and global tax strategies.
- Manages financial transactions, including monthly bank reconciliations, partner capital contributions, distributions, and investment funding and redemption tracking.
- Prepares accurate financial statements and reports for distribution to partners.
- Acts as a resource for partners and their tax professionals, addressing inquiries related to K-1 forms and other relevant tax matters throughout the year.
- Supports and coordinates tax audits as they arise.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding financial and system-related information.
- Stays informed on industry developments, emerging regulations, and technological advancements impacting tax operations; conducts research on international tax issues using platforms such as CCH, BNA, and Lexis.
- Engages in department-wide initiatives, process improvement projects, and cross-functional task forces to enhance efficiency and resolve challenges.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience in public accounting (Big 4).
- 1-2 years of relevant experience with progressive responsibility.
- CPA is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Access.
- Familiarity with Elite, reporting tools, and database management is a plus.
- Background in partnership accounting, particularly equity partner capital and investment partnerships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to critically assess current processes and recommend improvements.
