Job Overview:
As an Assistant Project Manager you will be responsible for managing construction and renovation projects in mostly residential buildings from inception to completion (both interior and exterior) as owner’s representative.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys during various phases of construction.
- Coordinate during the design and planning phase of the project.
- Analyze all vendor proposals.
- Review construction documents for accuracy.
- Prepare and monitor construction budget and schedules.
- Ability to assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Project coordination with outside vendors and consultants.
- Analyze bids, and assist in preparing the contract for the scope of work.
- Help manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, meeting minutes, submittals, and RFIs.Maintain client and vendor relations.
- Provide regular project updates and reports to the supervisor
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in project management, construction, or as an assistant project manager.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows software.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with a high work load volume while also knowing when to ask for help and ask questions when the information is unfamiliar.
- Strong organizational and communication skills is a must.
- A high level of energy and a strong bias to service excellence and getting things done with a sense of urgency.
- Possesses personal and professional integrity.
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
- Diligent and self motivated.
- Strong analytical skills.
- A self-starter who leads by example and who is respected by all levels of employees.
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and local regulations governing residential construction and renovations.
