OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
The People Coordinator position is critical to our FirstSteps mission and purpose. The People Coordinator is responsible for supporting the People function for all FirstSteps office locations as it is an essential part of our operations workflow, as our services would not otherwise be possible. The People Coordinator supports the People Team in their efforts to ensure a positive employment experience for all FirstSteps employees.
GENERAL AND ONGOING TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate data base, compliance with federal standards, completion of necessary training and education and continuing education completion.
- Identify issues that require additional investigation and evaluation, validates discrepancies, and ensures appropriate follow up.
- Update Mentor tags in HRIS System
- Submit clearance documentation for Educational Institutions
- Employee account setup and troubleshoot account access
- Collect, file, and monitor (with programmed alerts) all required documentation including but not limited to background and fingerprint clearances, TB clearance, driver’s license and insurance documents, signed job descriptions, acknowledgement of receipt of Employee Handbook and other employment agreements
- Document separation, ensure employee file complete, and move employee file to inactive status Update and maintain Employee Census on a regular basis
- Process Promotions paperwork and compensation increase for all regional offices in collaboration with People Team
- Answer general HR email correspondence
- Process HR mail - EDD, Worker’s Compensation, Employment Verification Requests, etc. Collaborate with Regional Clinic Directors to ensure clinical supervisory employees are CPR certified
PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of all payroll transactions
- Maintain Employee Referral Program and process bonuses when applicable
- Assists Director of People & Purpose with semi-monthly Payroll Process
- Prepare payroll reports for Finance Team

$25.00-30.00 hourly
Monday - Friday
8 hours per day excluding breaks
