What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender/ Tasting Room Associate position at Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods Inc?
Bartender and server of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to customers of the bar at Dietz Distillery. This position will work as the knowledgeable expert of the distillery program with the goal of building a loyal guest base, gaining repeat business, increasing brand awareness, and providing the customer the ultimate experience through verbal interaction, customer service, and knowledge of product lines. You must be able to conduct tastings of our spirits in a friendly and informative manner- with a goal of selling bottles of our spirits to the customer. At the core of this position, you will carry out duties and responsibilities while maintaining the Dietz Distillery core values of faith, family spirit, top quality, supreme service, integrity and laughter at all times.
- Only Saturday 10am -6 pm
- Verbalize the history and mission of Dietz Distillery and the evolution of all our products. The Why and the How.
- Tell the Fischer & Wieser Farmstead story and understand the connection family has to our mission statement.
- Mix cocktails that highlight the nuances of our small batch hand crafted spirits.
- Suggest additional cocktails for each of our spirits to customers.
- Lead customers through the tasting experience for all spirits.
- Setup bar in the morning, including prep of all garnishes and ensure all mixers are stocked for all cocktails on the current menu.
- Restock inventory as needed throughout each shift.
- Record each bottle sale in the ledger in accordance with TABC regulations.
- Keep bar area clean & organized at all times.
- Keep up with cleaning glassware throughout each shift.
- Keep track of bottles used behind the bar.
- Clean, remove trash and restock bar at the end of each shift. Perform general housekeeping throughout the tasting room and patio area.
- Must be proficient with POS system and be able to process all types of transactions.
- Good understanding and execution of customer service and selling skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.

- Ability to remain flexible under rapidly changing circumstances, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Current certifications in food handling and TABC alcohol sales (classes can be provided upon being hired).
- Valid drivers license and good driving record.
- Preferred Prior bartending service required.
- Typical retail store conditions to include long periods of standing, walking, reaching, and stooping, with occasional exposure to outside elements.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
