What does a successful Vice President of Human Resources do?
You will provide strategic leadership and guidance in all areas of HR, with a focus on supporting the Technology group within the Financial Institutions Business Unit. You will partner closely with the Technology Leader to develop and execute the people strategy, supporting the transformation of the organization to support operational excellence and client-centric focus. Your deep understanding of the technology industry, particularly within financial institutions, and experience in supporting technology organizations will generate success across the business.
What you will do:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals and partner with the Technology Leader to set and execute strategies
- Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals to foster a high-performance and collaborative culture
- Drive workforce planning efforts for the Technology function, evolving into an efficient and sustainable model
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to implement compensation, talent acquisition, talent management, employee engagement, and learning and development programs
- Provide expert guidance and support in employee relations matters to promote a positive work environment
- Manage employee performance, goal setting, and career development, aligning expectations with the overall Fiserv culture and fostering excellence and growth
- Lead HR initiatives related to organizational change, diversity and inclusion, and employee wellness
- Stay updated on HR trends, best practices, and data to provide strategic insights and recommendations to business leadership for continuous improvement and process efficiencies
What you will need to have:
- 10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably supporting technology organizations in the financial institutions sector
- 5 years of experience in HR leadership roles, developing and implementing strategies and initiatives
- Experience building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Experience handling sensitive information with discretion
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and/or work experience
What would be great to have:
- Advanced degree in Human Resources or related field
- Additional certifications such as SHRM-SCP or PHR
- Experience working in a matrixed global organization
- Experience leading change management initiatives
- Knowledge of HR technology systems
