Service Technician - Aquariums

Job Title: Aquarium Service Technician

Reports To: Lead Aquarist / Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Aquarium Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of freshwater and saltwater aquariums in residential, commercial, and/or institutional settings. This role requires a strong understanding of aquatic life support systems and a commitment to the health and well-being of aquatic organisms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine aquarium maintenance including water changes, glass cleaning, filter servicing, and equipment inspection
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to water quality, equipment, or animal health
• Transport and acclimate fish and invertebrates as needed
• Maintain accurate service records and provide client education on tank care
• Install new aquarium systems including plumbing, filtration, lighting, and aquascaping
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed
• Follow safety protocols and animal care best practices

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's in Marine Biology or related field preferred)
• Previous experience working with aquariums (professional or advanced hobbyist level)
• Knowledge of freshwater and marine systems, including reef tanks
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Comfortable working with various aquatic species
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments

Preferred Skills:

• Plumbing and electrical experience
• Aquascaping and coral fragging knowledge
• Experience with automated aquarium systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 45 per week
