Job Description: Heavy Equipment Operator
The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various machines, including skid steers, loaders, dozers, crushers, and excavators, in accordance with project specifications. This role requires daily equipment maintenance and upkeep.
Location: Northern Region Operations, covering North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming.
Nighttime Travel Required
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficient operation of equipment to meet production goals
- Assist with plant setup and teardown
- Perform general maintenance, repairs, and servicing of equipment as needed or directed by supervisor
- Maintain equipment and plants through daily housekeeping or as directed by supervisor
- Lift objects weighing 80 pounds on a regular basis
- Use a shovel to move materials as necessary
- Adhere to safety guidelines set by M.S.H.A. and company policy
- Conduct pre-shift inspections on equipment before startup
- Prioritize safety at all times, complying with company policies, procedures, and standards
- Perform other duties assigned by management
Requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
- Able to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specifications
- Mechanical knowledge of equipment and ability to perform routine maintenance
- Basic understanding of welding and cutting torch usage
- Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy is required
- MSHA part 46 and/or part 48 certification or willingness to obtain - company will cover certification costs
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Overnight travel is mandatory
