Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented person to join our Quality department. Fisher Tank is a manufacturer of field erected Carbon and Stainless-Steel welded API and AWWA tanks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that field erected tanks meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our production processes and ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality output. The Quality Control technician will utilize various inspection techniques and tools to assess product quality throughout the manufacturing process. Travel will be required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Review each job and provide analysis of testing of welds, areas of non-compliance, and action plan to address. Research codes / standards that are not customary as needed
- Implement and maintain quality control processes
- Perform data collection and analysis to identify trends, defects, or areas for improvement in production.
- Execute visual inspection systems to detect visual defects in products.
- Conduct quality audits to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary. And monitor progress to ensure corrections.
- Document inspection results and prepare reports for management review.
- Identify, initiate and evaluate new processes / techniques.
- Maintain calendar with reminders to calibrate gauges; enter calibration data into acceptable form for tracking and documentation purposes.
- Training and education for clients when required about WPS/PQRs and NDE/NDT.
- Conduct welder continuity testing. Input information on continuity testing.
- Conduct x ray interpretation as available and needed.
- Provide assistance and support in the customer specification review process and creation of ITPs.
- Verify CMTR's for proper analysis to ASTM/ASME standards.
- When requested / needed, investigate quality issues to determine root cause.
- When needed, prepare NCRs within Fisher and subcontractors.
- Interface with customer’s onsite quality personnel before job start as requested.
- Research and develop new FTC Quality procedures to meet client needs.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles.
- Must be proficient with MS Excel, Word.
- ASNT VT/PT/MT LVL II preferred; not required.
- Experience with data collection techniques for quality analysis.
- Familiarity with visual inspection for product evaluation.
- Ability to conduct thorough quality audits and implement improvements based on findings.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
