WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING| THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist to join our dynamic Human Resources team. This role will be primarily focused on ensuring HR compliance, maintaining accurate records, managing employee relations, overseeing benefits and leave management, and assisting in policy creation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of labor laws, employee relations best practices, and have the ability to create and manage effective HR policies.
HR Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly.
- Conduct regular audits of HR processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Support external audits as necessary, providing required documentation and reports.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with legal requirements.
- Oversee the management and storage of sensitive HR data, ensuring confidentiality and security.
- Ensure that all employee files, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and other key documentation, are maintained in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
Personnel Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns related to HR policies, workplace issues, and grievances.
- Facilitate effective communication between management and employees to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Assist in conflict resolution and support managers with performance management and employee relations issues.
- Promote an inclusive and respectful workplace culture.
Benefits Management:
- Administer company benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Educate employees on available benefits and assist with the enrollment process.
- Ensure timely communication of any changes to benefits plans and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Coordinate benefits-related activities, including open enrollment periods and resolving employee questions/issues.
Leave Management:
- Oversee the administration of employee leave programs, including but not limited to FMLA, sick leave, personal leave, and disability leave.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with applicable leave laws and company policies.
- Track leave balances and ensure timely processing of leave requests.
- Collaborate with management to ensure appropriate staffing and coverage during employee leaves.
Policy Creation and Updates:
- Assist in developing and updating company policies, including those related to employee conduct, compensation, benefits, and leave management.
- Ensure that all policies are in line with current labor laws and best practices.
- Communicate new or revised policies to all employees and ensure proper implementation and enforcement.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU BRING| THE PERSON
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in HR, with a focus on compliance, record keeping, benefits, leave management, and policy creation.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and OSHA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Proficient in HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certifications preferred.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.
- Occasional travel to other office locations or meetings.
