The Office of Communications Media is seeking a federal aid recipient for student employment. This position will be funded by federal work study dollars; only students that receive financial aid awards can be considered for this specific role. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Controls In/Out access to Film/Video Lab Complex by having students sign in and out on security lab form.
- Helps students with technical problems with the lab equipment. Appropriate supervisors will have a more sophisticated experience with the software and hardware in the lab complex. They must be able to demonstrate competency with Photoshop, AfterEffects, Finalcut Pro, Avid, and other software programs, be able to troubleshoot when possible and recognize when to shut equipment down if problems are too serious to handle without faculty supervision.
- Makes periodic rounds of the Film/Video lab complex to verify security of equipment and to ensure the safe and proper use of equipment by the students.
- Contact Campus Police if problems arise with security.
- Maintains single access control to the lab complex through the main door.
- Prepares reports for faculty regarding any technical problems they are unable to resolve. Informs faculty of any security problems.
- Alerts Campus Security to lock up the lab complex at the end of shift.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Lab Monitors are a critical line of support with the campus community and should therefore have a professional appearance, possess good interpersonal skills, be flexible and have a positive attitude. Appropriate applicants should have a basic working knowledge of equipment and must demonstrate competency with Photoshop, After effects, FinalCut Pro, Avid, and other software programs. They should be able to recognize common problems and correct them. They should recognize when software or hardware problems are more serious and to have the judgment to shut systems down when necessary. They should be able to assist students when needed. Punctuality is required. If unable to cover a shift, prior notice and/or arrangements must be made in advance.

Priority Review = Students enrolled in Communications Media classes or those with prior Film/Video experience.
