What are the responsibilities and job description for the FSU Undergraduate Federal Work Study employment position at Fitchburg State University?
The Office of Housing & Residential Services is seeking a federal aid recipient for student employment. This position will be funded by federal work study dollars; only students that receive financial aid awards can be considered for this specific role. Please see below the specific duties and responsibilities of the position.
Business Services
1. Learn to operate at basic level and by the privileges provided departmental databases/operating systems a. THD (housing operation system) b. Facility work order system
2. Create basic Excel Spreadsheet and/or Google Sheets
Parking Services
1. Learn to operate at basic level within the T2 parking services operation system
2. Address questions towards parking permit, parking appeals and other pertinent concerns.
3. Understand and be knowledgeable of the Parking Rules and Regulations
General Support
1. Provides front office support by greeting/welcoming and assisting callers in-person and visitors.
2. Update and monitor University Housing email account
3. Attend training of the operating systems within the Housing and Residential Services Department as requested, attend training as it relates to the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and will learn how to apply the skills obtained in training to every day job functions.
4. Support departmental wide programming
5. Other duties as assigned. This position is hired for the following time frames: ? Fall 2024/Spring 2025
Job Requirements:
Preferred
- Ability to obtain university van certification.
- Experience in an office setting and knowledge of University offices and services. Required
- Must be enrolled in a degree program at Fitchburg State University during the academic year
- Must maintain a cumulative/semester GPA of 2.5 (If a student staff member's GPA (semester/cumulative) falls below a 2.5 their retention will be based on an individual consultation with their supervisor. Student staff members may be placed on probation or released from employment pending outcome.)
- Students should have no pending cases, active sanctions and/or resolved cases that would prevent effective performance as a student staff member.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google Suites
- Ability to act with discretion and exercise proper professional etiquette.
