Position Title: Instructional Designer - Blackboard Learn to Ultra Conversion Specialist
(Part-Time, Contract)

Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced instructional designer or LMS specialist to
assist in converting courses from Blackboard Learn to Blackboard Ultra. This position will
involve reviewing and transferring course content, ensuring the accuracy and alignment of
materials, and assisting with the optimization of courses for Ultra's enhanced features. The ideal
candidate has a deep understanding of Blackboard Ultra and the migration process from the
Learn environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with faculty and instructional design teams to ensure smooth course migration from Blackboard Learn to Blackboard Ultra.
- Review existing Blackboard Learn courses, identify elements requiring adjustment for Ultra compatibility, and execute those changes.
- Migrate and reorganize course content, assessments, and multimedia to fit Ultra's structure and capabilities.
- Ensure all course materials, links, and tools function correctly within Blackboard Ultra post-migration.
- Enhance course design by leveraging Ultra's advanced features, such as improved navigation, student engagement tools, and grading workflows.
- Provide support to faculty and course owners throughout the transition process, including training on the Ultra interface and features.
- Troubleshoot any issues encountered during the migration and implementation process, ensuring timely resolution.
- Document the migration process and create user-friendly guides or tutorials to assist faculty post-migration.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Blackboard Learn and Blackboard Ultra (hands-on experience with course migration is preferred).
- Familiarity with instructional design principles, particularly in online course delivery.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple course migrations simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, instructional designers, and technical teams.
- Experience providing training or support to faculty and educators in using Blackboard Ultra.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
