- 1 years' experience running a Slitting machine
- Non-woven experience (Preferred)

The Slitter Operator position is responsible for assisting/operating on the Slitter and for labeling and packaging finished goods according to customer specification under the general supervision and direction of the team lead or manager.

Key Responsibilities (What/How):
Operations:
- Assist in thread-up of slitter.
- Perform slitter hoist inspection.
- Operation of slitter hoist.
- Operation of Corematic.
- Monitors slitter.
- Loading of unit rolls and removal of mandrels.
- Interaction with Acelli computer to enter packaging specifications.
- Selecting and setting up appropriate header size.
- Operation of stretch wrapper and associated equipment.
- Create labels for rolls and packages per standards, ensuring labels are accurate on each roll and package.
- Handling and packaging of finished slit rolls (manual and/or automatic system working with robots.
- Communicate with off-going and on-coming operators to ensure proper handoff.
- Perform shift clean-up.
- Assist in down day activities per team leader instructions.
- Provide coverage during absence of other shift technicians.
- Operates manufacturing equipment within the specified limits of the appropriate Standard Operating Conditions.
- Assist other team members as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Quality:
- Ensure rolls and packages are made per quality standards.
- Ensuring labels are accurate on each roll and package.
- Cut samples for quality testing.
- Ensure proper quality disposition of rolls per QC substandard report.
- Maintain work area to 5S (OLA) standards.
- Ensure finished rolls meet specifications defined in Operations Documents.
- Sustain proper removal of nonwoven defects, proper disposition of defective rolls, and process material deemed substandard by Lab.
- Initiate Temporary Change Notice when required.
Safety:
- Follow all Simpsonville Site Safety rules.
- Execute log out tag out procedures as necessary.
- Maintain work area to 5S (OLA) standards.
- Complete all assigned safety training – initial and ongoing.
- Wear proper PPE including safety shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, and any other designated PPE for individual tasks indicated in work instructions.
Physical Demands:
This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
