Overview:
The Banquet House Attendant is responsible for completing the set-up and break-down of banquet events in a safe and efficient manner. Other responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of any banquet rooms, hallways, storage, and service areas. The Banquet House Person must routinely inventory and care for banquet supplies such as linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware, and decorations.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for complete setup and breakdown of all events, following all specified BEO details, event diagrams, this will include but not limited to tables, chairs, portable bars, stations, buffets, etc.
- Cleaning of floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces; proper care, movement, and storage of equipment, including tables, chairs, stage and lecterns as required, maintaining guest readiness
- Set up basic audio-visual equipment.
- Properly controlling and storing meeting room supplies, such as linens, pads, pens/pencils, and meeting amenities as required
- Assisting in servicing meeting rooms by removing trash, clearing dirty plates, cups, glasses, and/or linens; straightening chairs; and replenishing water as specified or requested
- Maintaining all equipment, tools, and supplies while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department and County health department
- Working as a team and effectively communicating with management and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other team members
- Attend pre and post function meetings as requested
- Always being positive, showing enthusiasm, being humble, being thankful, and being respectful to all team members
- Maintain confidentiality of all members and Club information
- Follow grooming and uniform standards established for this role
- Working as a team, effectively communicating with management and co-workers
- Performs all other duties as directed by immediate supervisors
Qualifications:
- Minimum of One (1) year experience in a catering, hotel or club banquet environment
- Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance
- Must possess a positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
- Most work tasks are performed indoors, however, some work outdoors will be required
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks and physically able to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 50lbs as well as delicate china and glassware.
- Must be dependable and available to work within the club on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands
