What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian / Van Driver position at Fitzgerald Public Schools?
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED required.
Must have demonstrated the ability to perform the primary function and responsibilities set forth for the position
Valid license to operate a vehicle in the State of Michigan
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Ability to read and apply documents such as handbooks, Board Policies, contracts, safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to work cooperatively with all staff and community members.
Willingness to complete additional training and learn additional job-related skills as required.
Essential Functions
Custodian
Sweep, vacuum and mop floors;
Clean and sanitize throughout the school including dusting and cleaning all glass;
Clean, sanitize and supply bathrooms, including plunging/snaking toilets as required;
Empty and clean trash receptacles;
Ensure school grounds are clean and orderly;
Note and report all areas in need of repair and any hazardous or unsafe conditions;
Inform Operations Director or assigned designee of any cleaning or related supplies that need restocking;
Other duties as assigned by the Operations Director.
Physical Demands/Requirements
Ability to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds;
Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time;
Ability to talk and/or listen;
Occasional walking, pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching and/or twisting;
Ability to operate lift or other bus equipment;
Subject to outdoor environmental conditions, noise and hazards.
Salary : $41,000 - $46,000
