Job Overview:The Front of House Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the front of house (FOH), ensuring exceptional service standards, managing guest interactions, and leading a team of staff to deliver a seamless dining experience. This role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering top-tier customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the front of house, including guest service, reservations, seating arrangements, and customer inquiries.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of servers, hosts, and bartenders, ensuring they provide outstanding service and uphold company standards.
- Oversee guest interactions to ensure satisfaction, address complaints or issues promptly, and maintain a positive dining experience.
- Ensure the dining area is organized, clean, and inviting, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication between the front and back of house, ensuring timely service and accurate orders.
- Monitor and manage guest flow, especially during peak hours, to maximize seating efficiency and minimize wait times.
- Implement and enforce restaurant policies and procedures to ensure high standards of service, safety, and compliance with health regulations.
- Handle cash and payments, ensuring accurate cash handling, billing, and processing.
- Maintain inventory of front-of-house supplies and ensure all equipment is in working order.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to increase business.
- Assist with staff scheduling, payroll, and training initiatives to ensure consistent and high-quality service.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a restaurant or hospitality environment, preferably in an Irish pub or similar setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on guest relations.
- Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations with a calm, professional demeanor.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of front-of-house operations, including guest service, reservations, and cash handling.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
