Position : Inventory Analyst, Allocation
DEPARTMENT : Allocations
Report To : Manager, Allocation
Overview : As theAllocation Analyst, you will take lead in optimizinginventory allocation and distribution strategies to meet customer demand and drive sales during peak seasons. This role requires a keen understanding of inventory management, market trends, and customer behavior to ensure the right products are available in the right stores at the right time. You will manage the distribution of inventoryto maximize the likelihood of sales and sell-through while considering strategicobjectives such as store priority. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities :
Seasonal Allocation and Planning :
Oversee businesses with 500-1,000 SKUs, driving up to $200M annually
Coordinate with buying, planning, visual to plan for seasonal set and refresh allocations
Optimize the allocation of products to prevent stockouts and reduce excess inventory at end of season or product life cycle
Review the allocation of merchandise to warehouses and stores based on demand forecasts, sales trends, and optimal inventory levels
Support the execution of seasonal strategies and marketed events by allocating the right products to stores and online channels as per the marketing and merchandising plans
Inventory Analysis :
Monitor store sales performance, tracking sell-through rates. Review opportunities with manager and align on the necessary adjustments for upcoming seasons
Collaborate with manager to identify slow-moving items and recommend actions to address these issues (hold in DC, markdown, floor placement moves)
Generate and maintain allocation reports, highlighting key performance metrics for your manager
Data Analysis and Reporting :
Generate reporting on inventory performance
Partner with Data Science team to help transform manual data sets into dynamic Power BI dashboards that fuel analysis and deliberate changes
Communication and Collaboration :
Cross-collaborate closely with (but not limited to) Buying, Planning, Visual Merchandising and Supply Chain to ensure effective communication and coordination
Partner with your manager to provide regular updates on allocation effectiveness throughout the season
Support a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented environment with a cross-functional team focused on driving sales and optimal store presentation levels
Qualifications :
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in inventory management
Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Ability to analyze data and provide actionable feedback. A strong problem-solving skillset
Capable of prioritizing workload in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Sense of urgency and excitement to be a part of a high-growth retail environment
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn systems quickly. Power BI or Tableau experience a bonus
