Job Summary : Manager, Outbound Operations - Shipping
The Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shipping department, ensuring that products are processed and shipped to customers in an efficient and timely manner. While managing a team of shipping associates, optimizing workflows, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Shipping Manager will work cross-functionally with other Ship Center departments to ensure that orders are accurately fulfilled and delivered on time. The position also involves monitoring performance metrics, managing resources, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of shipping associates to meet daily shipping targets and maintain high productivity levels
- Oversee the packaging, labeling, and dispatching of goods, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Partner with the Transportation team to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries are executed
- Resolve shipping issues, including delays, damages, or incorrect shipments, working with internal teams to find solutions
- Implement safety and compliance protocols within the shipping department
- Analyze performance data and make recommendations for process improvements
- Collaborate with other departments, including inventory control, to support the flow of goods through the distribution center.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in shipping and logistics.
