Five Eighth Seams, a locally owned sewing and fabric store in Charleston, SC, is looking for a skilled, reliable Sewing Machine Repair Technician to join our team. We sell and service Husqvarna Viking sewing machines and are seeking someone who can perform diagnostic assessments, routine maintenance, and repairs with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in sewing and embroidery machines
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of machines, including computerized models
• Keep accurate records of all services performed
• Communicate clearly with staff and customers regarding repairs, timelines, and recommendations
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Stay up-to-date with training on current models and service procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience repairing sewing machines (Husqvarna Viking experience is a plus)
• Strong mechanical and technical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with staff and customers
This position can be part-time or full-time depending on availability and experience. Hourly rate based on experience, with potential for growth as machine sales and service needs expand.
