The HR Operations Intern will provide a wide range of administrative support to various sub-departments in Human Resources. This individual will spend the majority of their time working with the Benefits Team but will handle various ad-hoc administrative functions pertaining to the services delivered by the Human Resources Department.
The HR Operations Intern will work directly with the HR and Operations teams to ensure our store-level HR operations run smoothly and our employees are supported effectively. Additionally, this individual will be assigned an in-depth incisive project that will involve research, analysis, and presenting findings to senior HR stakeholders at the conclusion of the internship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
HR Benefits Responsibilities
• Research the state paid leave programs. Gather information and compose a leave of absence resource and reference guide for utilization by the benefits team and store managers.
• Create a state leave quick reference chart.
• Assist the Benefits team in following up with store level employees leave of absence return to work status.
• Organize the Benefits Folder on the H Drive.
• Opening and sort incoming mail.
• Send Wellness Communication webinar announcements and assist with Wellness Initiatives HR Operations Support Responsibilities
• Analyze turnover data to identify stores with the highest and lowest rates and use other data points to identify trends that may be occurring. Develop reporting tools to facilitate the action plans resulting from this information.
• Learn & understand the partnership between the store/field operations team and Human Resources. Gain an in-depth understanding of the alignment between HR and business strategies.
Learning and Development Responsibilities:
•Research effective methods and analyze collected data to effectively enhance the FIVE Guys internship program.
•Collaborate with the internship program team to develop comprehensive plans and guides for the FIVE Guys internship program.
General Intern Program Responsibilities:
•Complete an assigned project of significance focused in designated discipline and present findings to various stakeholders during the last week of the program.
•Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university as a junior or senior pursuing a degree in HR Management, Business, Marketing or Psychology
- Must have working knowledge with PCs, Windows 7/10/11, and Office 365.

Mentorship: Each intern will be strategically paired with a Mentor for guidance and feedback. Mentors provide invaluable guidance, support and learning opportunities that can enhance the intern’s experience.
Intern Project: Interns will collaborate with their Department Managers, Mentors, Program Coordinator on a specific project based on their department. At the end, interns will present their project findings and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
