The Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) is a standardized, comprehensive, 120-hour construction course designed to help young people and transitioning adults choose and succeed in apprenticeship programs that are appropriate for them. Our training protocol—combining lecture/text/video-based learning with hands-on practice—will challenge and inspire students as they gain technical, Industry-Aligned experience, improve their employability skills, and journey to the core of who they are as human beings. Through tracking and assessing Core Employability Skills alongside Industry-Specific Skills, Five Keys reinforces its commitment to preparing individuals for the rigors of employment and life.
The OSHA 10 Training Program for the Construction Industry provides training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in general industry. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Through this training, OSHA helps to ensure that students on a Building & Construction Trades Pathway are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights as they transition to employment.
The Building and Construction Trades Instructor will coordinate/facilitate a skill-focused program covering content aligned with Apprenticeship-Readiness Expectations as set forth by the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building & Construction Trades Council and the North American Building Trades Unions. Additionally, all OSHA 10 trainings will comply with OSHA Safety Content/Knowledge criteria, and will lead to students earning an OSHA 10 Card upon successful completion of the course.
We are looking for someone who insists on maintaining a positive attitude and enjoys supporting a diverse group of people. If this job is for you, you are an expert in the construction industry and are dedicated to instructing, advising, and guiding students toward a successful career in the building and construction trades.
