Position Description
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department. This position carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, and employment.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists with the tracking of departmental and agency measurements that support the accomplishment of the agency’s strategic goals.
- Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR department.
Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements and retains record consistent with agency record retention requirements. - Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
- Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, update enrollment information, and communicate benefits information to employees.
- Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
- Maintains organization charts, human resource information system records, and personnel files.
- Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all positions; conducts new-employee orientations, and monitors career-pathing program.
- Completes verification of employment requests.
- Reconciles monthly financials such as Procard Statements, department invoices, and employee benefits invoice.
- Maintains awareness of developments and trends occurring within the HR profession through in-service workshops, meetings, conferences, professional literature and organizational memberships.
- Maintains the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all aspects of performance.
- Maintains confidentiality of confidential or sensitive records and information.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources management, public administration, business management or a closely related field.
Three years of experience in human resources and/or administrative support.
Valid Ohio Driver's License that meets Five Rivers MetroParks' insurance carrier guidelines.
